(1:10 pm - 10.23.2002 - taproot and gc meetings - i feel )

just about a week since i've wrote. let's see. on thursday (10.17) i met gc (good charlotte). good times. it was fucking cold. i got pictures with all the guys except billy. so whatever. i gave joel the magic 8 ball, and he loved it. presents=hugs. the kids that i saw at the hoobastank show were there again, and i talked to them. after meeting all the guys, i was about to leave. my friends had to wait for a ride, but since it was so cold, i pulled in front of metropol and told them to sit in the car. we listened to taproot. hehe. i was talking to the kid, cory, and he's from around here, that's why he knew me. well, anyways, we were talking about people we both knew. i asked him about dave moore. like, where the fuck is he? figures that the kid moved to, millvale, or some place like that. yeah. dave moore. although after high school i was glad to forget about everyone associated with it, i never could forget him.

nik was in charge of buying the taproot tickets, but on friday they were giving them away on the radio, so, just incase i tried to win some. and of course, i did. the dj tried to make it hard to win them. i had to name the lead singer of the band. whoa! hard question for a fan! i got ahold of nik to see if he bought the tickets, and of course he did. oh well. it was fun to win them.

saturday (10.19) was time for the show. major excitement for me. i love the new album. love it! it was the first time i've been to nick's fat city too. we found it pretty easily, considering we had no clue how to get there. again, it was cold. i didn't even pick up the tickets i won. we didn't get in the pit, which was fine with me, cause it looked brutal during the project86 set. we stood off to the left of the stage, and the kid that takes pictures was there. i saw him at the hoobastank show too. so first up was pulse ultra. not bad.

then project86 put on a great show. i don't have any of their stuff either. their set reminded me of what a punk show would look like back in the day. well, as close as i've ever seen. i was just thankful we weren't in the pit. the lead singer, andrew schwab, reminded me a lot of a guy that i knew in high school. bryan miller? i can't even remember his name. well, maybe if bryan gained a few pounds of muscle and didn't look so boy-next-doorish.

yes, and then it came down to taproot. simply amazing. we were right to the left of mike dewolf. i can't believe how young he looks for being 26. he doesn't look a day over 17. stephen was all over the place. he walked all around during "i" and crowd surfed, and jumped from the 2nd level. then he decided to walk on the bar infront of us. i held his hand helping him balance. a pretty short set. they played the following:

  • mirror's reflection
  • smile
  • when
  • now
  • i
  • time
  • emotional times
  • breathe
  • again and again
  • myself
  • day by day
  • poem

it was only a few minutes before 10 when the show was over. no encore! they left us wanting more. i spotted a guitar pick on the ground and pointed it out to nik. he went and got it, and it turned out to be one of mikes. later on, nik gave me the pick. i don't think i can keep it.

we went out and waited by the busses. we met one of the guys from project86. i don't even know who. then i saw there was a small crowd around the taproot bus, so i walked over and mike was already out. nothing but nice. i was too afraid to ask him for a picture. then, i went over and met jarrod. he was like "i saw you, you were standing over to the right!" i looked at him all weird like "am i so weird looking that you remembered where i was standing?" then i gave him the etch a sketch that i bought for them. he held it up and said "hey phil! we got an etch a sketch!" i got a picture with jarrod and then went over to phil. got a picture with him.

then stephen came out. he was talking to everyone, and then one kid asked if he could have one of his bracelets. he only had about 7 on, and he gave them all away. i got his last one! and he even put it on me. hehehhe. he said that whenever he came on the bus that day, there was a note from some kid along with the new album, and the note said "you lost one of your biggest fans by making this album." then he asked me if i liked the album. i said i loved it. he signed the albums, and i also had the set list. he looked at it and said "should i sign this too?" i said, sure if you want to. and he signed it, "i want" along with the signature. i told him i gave jarrod an etch-a-sketch for the band, that he had to share, and that started we a little conversation about bop-its. so next time i'm getting them a bop it. i got my picture with him.

i was gonna be sad if i didn't get a picture with mike, and luckily he came back off the bus and i got a picture with him. all the guys were 100% sweet. i was so pleased. we actually got home a little after 11. unheard of! i could have gone to work if i wanted to.

i came home, and had a little headache, so i decided to take 2 tylenol pm's. i was talking to mark, and after about an hour, i up and passed out! those things made me so tired, i couldn't even wake back up.

but, it's funny. whenever i fall asleep when i'm on the phone with mark, i have conversations with him in my head. i think i'm talking to him, but it's all in this dream like state. he tried waking me up for 40 minutes, then i finally did wake up. then just as soon as we hung up, i fell back asleep and slept the whole next day. insane!

mom came on friday and took the car back. ripped my freedom right out from under me! she didn't say anything about the car acting funny either. although there was absolutely no oil in the car. none! oops! she didn't say anything about the mirror either. whew. hopefully she won't in the future either. so, right now my mom is at my dad's house. too weird. i think she's having surgery on friday. maybe on her shoulder? i really don't know.

i actually called my aunt yesterday morning. we're getting together next tuesday. i'm going to show her pictures of all the rock stars i've met this summer. i'm sure she'll be interested. the next show isn't until november 19th. audiovent. and how mad am i????? let me tell you. i was looking at my music collectibles, and i was looking at the little line-up sheet of x-fest. i couldn't remember everyone that was there. well, looking down the sheet, i see the name... audiovent. they were on around 2pm, i don't even know if we were there by then, but with my luck that day, we probably were. and there i was sitting there, watching the custom set. i can't believe x-fest was back in may. it'll all come together when i meet them at the show. err. frustration! and i better get to see 311 soon. that's it for now.

you look like me-i'm sorry for you-you talk like me i can't understand you-you think like me-you're fucking crazy-you want to be me-but thats ok because-you remind me of me-someway-but only the good-cause i'm just me
